Your Host
Meet Brandon Fixico
I’m a Chickasaw husband, father of three, and I operate my own lawn care business in eastern Oklahoma.
I’ve had several adventures and misadventures in entrepreneurship, from making native flutes to running a screen printing shop out of my home. There were lots of lessons learned along the way.
One of the lessons that stood out to me time and time again is that we as Natives tend to get in our own way, not understanding that need to support each other to reach our full potential.
So many of us grew up in some low income situation, hearing that the white man wants to keep us down, and wondering why we should even try.
We Natives come from a long tradition of unbreakable strength, having the intelligence to adapt to any environment, and building our communities to thrive.
As entrepreneurs, we’re not those who look for handouts. We’re the ones who have the vision to see that we need to build what we want, and understand the deep feelings of well earned pride when we do something greater than we thought we could and make our family’s lives better.
